CHS Warrior wrestling had a very exciting and productive weekend at McEachern High this past weekend.
In the first round of play-offs for wrestling-the Regional, Cherokee placed the following wrestlers:

119 Cole Anderson (12) 3rd
125 Shad Mays (9) 6th
145 Dylan Barone (12) 4th Seeded 5th

Cherokee will be sending 6 to the sectional next weekend in Tifton, GA |

| Warriors Dominate Home Tri Meet |

Cherokee Grapplers dominated their home Tri meet with Chapel Hill & Woodstock January 6th 2010.
The warriors started the night off with a 67-6 drubbing of Chapel Hill. 6 Cherokee wrestlers landed pins in the match. Ryan Johnston also added a dominating Tech Fall performance winning 20-5. |

CHS defeated Northview 47-35, while going down to Pickens Cty 15-61

| CHS wrestling Home Opener |

The warrior wrestlers faced two tough opponents in Dalton & Roswell in their home opener. They had some tough matches at their home opener 12/2 with a close loss to a Dalton team that placed 2nd in AAA last last at the state duals. The final score ended up 33-36
In their second match a strong Roswell team beat the warriors 23-54
The warrior are still struggling with their line up. Injuries, and the weight management system are the major factors to get their wrestlers in the right places. They are working hard in the practice room and continue to do the things they need to be successful once all the pieces are in place. |

Warriors go 2-3 at Redan Duals
This past week the warrior wrestlers went 2-3 at the Redan duals.
Forfeits and weight certification issues really affected the warrior Friday. In their first dual of the season with Jonesboro, CHS pitched a shout out except for those 3 forfeits 66-18. Nick Walker, Zach Hames and Patrick Beal all recorded pins in the win. |
