Warriors go 2-3 at Redan Duals
This past week the warrior wrestlers went 2-3 at the Redan duals.
Forfeits and weight certification issues really affected the warrior Friday. In their first dual of the season with Jonesboro, CHS pitched a shout out except for those 3 forfeits 66-18. Nick Walker, Zach Hames and Patrick Beal all recorded pins in the win.
In their second meet with host school Redan, the warriors came up short with a 36-39 loss. Cherokee battled hard although giving up 18 points in forfeits to start but just couldn’t hold on.
CHS wrestled Morrow third and ended up with a 48-36 victory. The warriors recorded 8 pins in the victory lead by senior Cole Anderson with a :40 sec pin.
The next match they ran into a very solid Lithonia team losing 30-48. Again the warriors started with an 18 point deficit along with Lithonia depth, they were just too much to handle.
The final match of the night ended with an always strong Shiloh team. The final score was a 24-46 loss with the highlight match of the night going to 125lb senior Cole Anderson. Cole battled a very strong opponent in Ryan Mosely and came away with a 9-5 Victory.
Other highlights go to Patrick Beal and Cole Anderson recording a perfect 5-0 starts to the season. The warrior wrestlers will next compete at Blessed Trinity Wed. 11/25/09
